Membership

The Edmonton Section is a vibrant local section of the Canadian Society For Civil Engineering (CSCE). The Section has been actively involved in developing a diverse program encompassing several disciplines and projects of interest to civil engineers within the Edmonton and Northern Alberta regions.

CSCE works with members to support you in your work, and support and create opportunities for development, growth, and learning.

Why Become a Member?

The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering promotes the profession of civil engineering in Canada and the development, acquisition and exchange of professional knowledge within the field of civil engineering.

Engineers and Technologists

As a professional member you will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with fellow professional engineers and technologists locally and from across Canada,
  • Attend local monthly technical dinner presentations,
  • Attend regional technical presentations, and take part in the national annual conference,
  • Participate in professional development activities such as site tours, the CSCE National Lecture Tour, Networking Mixers, and Workshops in partnership with other technical societies.
  • Eligible for awards presented at the CSCE Annual Conference

Students

Make important connections within the engineering community while you prepare for your career. To qualify for Student Membership you must be currently enrolled in a diploma, undergraduate or graduate program in engineering at a Canadian University or College.

  • Network with fellow students and professional members as a member of CSCE,
  • Attend local monthly technical dinner presentations,
  • Attend regional technical presentations, and take part in the national annual conference,
  • Participate in professional development activities such as site tours, the CSCE National Lecture Tour, Networking Mixers, and Workshops in partnership with other technical societies,
  • Scholarship opportunities (please contact your Civil Engineering Department at your university for further details): Donald Jamieson Fellowship, Dillon Consulting Scholarship,
  • Participate in student competitions: CSCE Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition, Larry Gerard Paper Contest, and Graduate Student Poster Competition.

How to Become a Member

Membership year is from January 1 to December 31. You can join at any time during the year. Fees cannot be prorated, 2016 Membership Dues

Student receive free membership upon registration and it only expires at the time of graduation.
